As described by Karl Höfner to piano distributors: their high-end models are “made entirely of beautiful, seasoned and carefully treated wood. We only use wood with good tones.” mainly, Bavarian spruce and selected European maple. Aged wood is the standard. All the details are selected ebony. Each instrument is carved from a solid block of wood and tuned for the best tone. The scroll and neck are hand-engraved. Höfner classical violins from the Concert and Master series are sought after and command stable prices on the secondary market. You can look up prices on the Internet but please make sure you look for the “KH” model which is a model manufactured before 2000. For example, Brobst Violin Shop often offers very good vintage Höfner models. If you search the Karl Höfner website, you will find good prices for each model. Prices for Höfner classical violins range from $2,500 for the KH200 model to $3,000 for the KH208 model and to over $5,000 for other models intended for professional performance.

Please note that the classic Concert and Master models that are hand-made in their best-selected workshops should not be confused with the inexpensive (but still very good) student models. intended use) are produced in large quantities at the factory. And also note the difference between the highly sought-after vintage Höfner guitars (models starting with KH) and the modern Höfner guitars being sold at retailers (models starting with H , such as H225 AS). The modern models with the letter H and numbers, although still great guitars, cannot be compared to the classic KH model.
